PRESS RELEASE:- Local business pledges support for orphanages
I am writing to ask for your invaluable assistance in supporting a local business in a vital and urgent appeal for the children of Kenya. At a time when the worst famine in a century has devastated Africa and in particular Somalia and Northern Kenya, we have been moved to get personally involved.
I have spent most of this summer working in Kenya setting up a charitable foundation, working with fair-trade, co-operative and poverty groups, whilst travelling the length and breadth of the country.
Most recently I have spent time at several of the hardest pressed children’s orphanages and you will see from the photo file link attached below, the experience was humbling and distressing.
As a result, I have returned to the UK determined to make a difference to the lives of these children.
I have also attached links to press release and poster with full details of the appeal we are launching October 1st 2011.
It is impossible not to be moved by the true facts of the tragedy that is unveiling and it is, in this day and age, hard to imagine a world where thousands of children are dying through lack of water, food and support.
Please can you support us in any way you can by promoting this campaign and helping us to travel to Kenya with a lorry full of aid for Christmas.
We are pledging two tonnes of vital food products to the campaign from WILD ABOUT BIRDS and NDEGE WA PORI, also I am personally donating another tonne to give it a head start.
